Nowadays, radiologists spend much of the day in front of medical displays. Therefore, it is of special importance to properly select the display which fits their needs best.

The German-based company IMAGE Display Solutions is a manufacturer and specialist for medical display solutions. As part of the IMAGE Information Systems group it can draw on eight years of experience in digital medical imaging. This long-term experience ensures the production of high-quality displays for daily radiological use.

IMAGE Display Solutions is now launching its new medical display solution iQ-DISPLAYS. Being the first solution worldwide offering true 12 bit grayscale image transfer, iQ-DISPLAYS has set a new standard in medical display solutions. Users have the possibility to choose between entrance, professional and premium level according to which resolution and gray depth they require. In order to achieve an outstanding performance and quality, iQ-DISPLAYS are available with iQ-VIEW PRO and the high-performance medical 3D graphics card iQ-GRAFIX. iQ-GRAFIX is suitable for any kind of medical imaging from 1x2 up to 2x5 megapixels and provides true eight, ten and 12 bit image output. The displays come with both CE and FDA clearance and can be obtained through IMAGE's worldwide distributor network.

The iQ-SYSTEM PACS Summer Course in Rostock has come to an end after what was an extremely successful and enjoyable week! We were joined by 25 distributors from 18 nations and were thrilled with the high level of interest and enthusiasm each participant brought to the course.

As a result of the strong interest in both our product sessions and workshops, the educations sessions were held at the Radisson SAS Hotel and the workshops were undertaken in our development centre in Rostock. It was a week full of product presentations, hands on workshops, interesting discussions about features, future developments and strategies as well as a forum for all of our distributors to exchange experiences and knowledge. This year we were lucky enough to have presentations from experts in the field of Radiology and Nuclear Imaging as well as the developers of each of our iQ-SERIES products.

We are grateful the constructive feedback we received regarding our presentations as well as the many suggestions for features and improvements of our products. This input is very helpful for us to further improve and enhance our products but also to increase the quality of our training courses to an even higher level in the future.

We sincerely hope that all of our participants found the course a rewarding experience and gained a wealth of insight, knowledge and passion for our products. We would like to thank everyone for traveling from all around the world to come to join us in Rostock; we thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet some of our valuable partners. Due to the success of the course, we are already planning further opportunities for training in the near future and hope that those of you who have not been able to participate in the 2008 summer course will be come and join us next.

iQ-PRINT comes now in two different license versions. The basic version is limited to one printer and 5 modalities (print clients), which perfectly fits the needs of small environments. The PRO version, on the other hand, has no limitations.

Furthermore, iQ-PRINT supports now a page logo appearing on each page’s top. It can be used to integrate the institution logo e.g. the logo of the hospital. The logo is using a Windows® bitmap image that can easily be created with any imaging software.

Due to its better compatibility, iQ-PRINT is now even more robust and keeps life easy when integrating non DICOM compliant print clients. Several violations of the standard or missing process information are now kindly ignored.

The transfer of the rendered print data to the printer can take some time. However, iQ-PRINT can now handle this transfer independently from the communication to the modality, which will enhance the performance and dramatically speed up your print environment.

The iQ-VIEW 2.5.0b upgrade is now available!

The new version comes with an improved performance for a faster loading and searching in the local imagebox and now supports additional transfer syntaxes for DICOM communication (e.g. JPEG 2000 lossless and lossy). Users will notice significant enhancements in the auto-routing function, a better use of search filters and improvements in the DICOM email import and export. To make the creation of short reports even easier, iQ-VIEW now also stores font style and font size in the report module.

The following bugs have been fixed in iQ-VIEW 2.5.0b:

• Customizable iQ-LITE banner is again burned onto the medium;
• The incorrect display of scoutlines (occurring under extremely rare circumstances) has been corrected;
• The scoutlines display is now refreshed when switching series;
• Several refresh issues have been resolved.
